The latest Angsana resort in the Maldives, opened in April 2007. In Maldivian Velavaru means Turtle Island and the conservation policies of the owning group are obvious in the thoughtful design. Located in the South Nilandhe atoll, 40 minutes by sea plane (daylight hours only) south of Male. One of the most acclaimed areas in the Maldives for marine life.

Dotting the circumference of the island are 79 villas that open out to a spectacular view of the Indian Ocean. Each has air conditioned bedroom, en suite bathroom and additional outdoor shower, CD player and sun loungers in the garden in front of each villa. The rooms are designed in a bright contemporary style. You have three main choice of villa, all with beach front location. The introduction rate is deluxe, followed deluxe with jet pool and then deluxe with private step-up pool and extended sun deck. In addition you have a couple of specialty villas. In keeping with the policy of the Angsana / Banyan Tree group, the villas do not have TV.
