A mere 5 kilometres north of the city limits of Jodhpur, on the Mandore Road, is the Balsamand Garden Retreat, a series of charming rooms laid in a row with individual sit-outs overlooking an expanse of manicured lawns and exquisitely tended gardens.

At the far end of the same property is the Balsamand Lake, overlooking which is the Balasamand Lake Palace, the erstwhile summer retreat of the Jodhpur Maharajahs. What is now the Garden Retreat served as accommodation for the royal retinue.

There are 26 rooms in a row, each with individual sit-outs, overlooking the lush lawns and gardens. The rooms are charming and well-appointed affording complete privacy and yet just a step away from the many activities on offer on this sprawling estate.
